ABOUT
Meet Sarah Mulder
Designing and creating from her Gastown studio in downtown Vancouver, Sarah's designs are a reflection of her adventurous spirit. After graduating in 2000 with her Diploma in Fine Arts, Sarah traveled to Europe to study Art History, her first trip abroad further sparked her love for the arts. Financing her trip to Europe and later her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts through the sales of jewelry, design became a full-time career in 2011. Now Sarah balances her time between making every day versatile jewelry and creating fine art and custom artwork for clients.
Sarah's Why
"My infatuation with jewelry began as a child staring at my mom’s bangles that she never took off, and swooning over jewelry that she had purchased during her travels. I started to collect jewelry through my teens, and into my 20’s, and then my house was robbed, and all of my jewelry was stolen. The insurance company reimbursed me to replace my jewelry collection. I took my time and bought myself a capsule collection of beautiful gold plated pieces, and I realized how much wearing jewelry made me feel complete. I started to consider a jewelry career to create beautiful, timeless pieces with a twist, wanting to offer my customers something they might not be able to find anywhere else.”
Sarah's Process
Sarah Mulder Jewelry is imagined, designed and finished in Vancouver, Canada. Sarah designs "Jewelry for City Dwellers with Bohemian Hearts" and focuses on statement pieces that can be tailored down to pair with everyday looks. Working with artisans, Sarah's designs are made from carved wax that is set in moulds. The pieces are then finished in 24k gold, or rhodium plating. Sarah pairs the designs with hand-cut semi-precious stones and finishes the jewelry in her studio in historic Gastown. Each piece is handmade to ensure a quality product.
